KATERINA
NITSOPOULOU
Katerina Nitsopoulou
was born in Athens - Greece, lived for several years in the United
States and is presently residing in Greece.
She is a Cum Laude
graduate of Mathematics from West Virginia University where she
also completed her graduate studies in Physics receiving a Master
of Science degree. She has involved herself in research and teaching
at Georgia Institute of Technology as well as New York University.

Her involvement with poetry
and music came from an early age and found an outlet through her fruitful
collaboration with composer Kostas Hatzopoulos in their first album Blue
Angel. Since then she has participated as a singer in several concerts
and recorded works in Greece.
Reviews on Katerina Nitsopoulou’s
work recognise the visionary quality of her lyrics, the originality of
her voice and the sensuality of her improvising vocalisms.
Katerina Nitsopoulou and
Kostas Hatzopoulos have recently formed the group ANEMOS which
has gained the enthusiastic reviews of the critics upon the release of
their album in April 1998.
